United Way of Albany County

Greetings from the 2023 Campaign Chair

The Rotary Club of Laramie is honored to stand as the Campaign Chair for United Way of Albany County’s 2023 Campaign. For 65 years, United Way has been providing support for health, education, and financial assistance to the community. In the past year, with the help of our county’s generosity and collaboration with local businesses, United Way has continued to support our community to improve access to health care, education, and financial stability for our fellow citizens through our sixteen local community partners.

This year, we’d like to highlight what an amazing group of nonprofits can accomplish when everyone works together. The Rotary Club’s mission is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through their fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. This made being the United Way of Albany County 2023 Campaign Chair an easy choice. As Rotarians, our motto is “service above self” and we would like to demonstrate how important it is to each of us. We are excited to announce that one of our Rotarians, John Evans, has volunteered to offer a substantial monetary match to inspire our community’s spirit of generosity during the 2023 Campaign. We are proud to know John and so grateful that our community is on the receiving end of such a gift.

The agencies that collaborate and partner with United Way of Albany County continuously provide necessary services, sometimes round-the-clock care. Often, they are forced to withstand challenges they didn’t plan for and face daily adversity, but still they carry on. Our community partners are focused on providing health services, advocating for educational opportunities for all ages and assisting with financial stability to break the cycle of poverty. Their work can be a safe place for a domestic violence victim, healthy free meals for those without access to food, a diaper pantry, vaccines for children, a safe place for seniors to congregate or developmental screenings for early detection… to name just a few of the services offered. Many of them operate with low budgets, staffing shortages, or both. Your support, no matter the amount, is significant.
